May Homes was founded in 2015 by Louis May, whose passion for the industry brought him and his family from their home state of California to the Lone Star State to expand his business. After earning a business degree and becoming a Real Estate Broker and Certified Property Manager, he started focusing on real estate investments and construction.

Upon relocating to Houston, Louis discovered his niche of work in both the full transformation of distressed properties for investors and new additions for homeowners. His passion for remodeling and renovation stemmed from a true appreciation for the craftsmanship it takes to make a home look beautiful and function properly.

Louis found the artistry of transforming a distressed and abandoned property into something beautiful that could be enjoyed for decades to come very fulfilling. He was also fascinated by the strategy and tenacity it took to be successful in the market, especially with some of his more unorthodox projects.

Transition to new construction

His in-house crew of nearly 100 professionals in various construction roles helped him quickly become one of the biggest renovators in Houston — with a strong reputation for high quality work, consistency and well-scheduled turnarounds. Once Louis saw what his crew could do with older homes and smaller budgets, he decided it was time to see what beautiful new-construction homes his company could design, construct and perfect. Now using subcontracted crews, May Homes continues to be a full service builder with decades of combined experience in all facets of construction.
